Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where will the photo session be held?

For outdoor sessions, I cover all of Brisbane and have plenty of locations that I can suggest for your photo session. These include parks, creeks and even nearby beaches, however if you have a specific location in mind feel free to suggest that to me and we can make that work!

I can also travel to Ipswich, the Gold Coast, Deception Bay and Toowoomba. I also occasionally travel to the Sunshine Coast for beach sessions too.*

*Note: for locations outside of Brisbane there will be a travel fee

  • What time of the day will the photo session be held?

I usually hold my outdoor photo sessions in the last few hours of the day to get the best light possible. And that way if we’re lucky we might even have a beautiful sunset to end the session on!

  • My dog isn’t good off-leash, will this be a problem?

Not at all! It’s actually more common for me to hold photo sessions with dogs on leash than off-leash for safety reasons, and also due to leash laws in certain outdoor locations. With the magic of photoshop, removing leashes in the editing process is easy-peasy!

  • Can I be in the photos/do I have to be in the photos?

It’s completely up to you! You are welcome to jump in the photos with your dog, but you don’t have to if you don’t want to. I love capturing the bond between dogs and their humans, so if you’re comfortable getting in the photos I encourage you to do so.

  • What if my dog isn’t obedient?

Most of the dogs that I work with (including my own dogs!) aren’t perfectly trained - they’re dogs, not robots after all! When shooting outdoors there are always plenty of distractions, which is why in the planning stage I’ll make sure to ask you what works best to get your dog’s attention. Do they like treats? Balls? Squeaky toys? You know what your dog loves and this will help on the day to keep them interested and attentive. But don’t stress - this isn’t a test of your dog’s obedience and as a dog mum of 2 crazy pups myself I am in no position to judge (trust me on that!), so don’t feel any pressure for your dog to be on their best behaviour. Just relax and let yourself enjoy the shoot! I will handle the rest. :)

  • My dog’s health is deteriorating, is there any chance I could book a last minute session?

I know how much your fur baby means to you, so if you receive the heartbreaking news that your dog does not have much time left then I will do everything I can to fit your session in as soon as possible. It is never too late to book a session to remember your beloved dog by, so please reach out and we will make sure to capture those precious memories while we can.

  • What if it’s raining or too cloudy?

If the weather is less than ideal on the day, I will be in contact with you to reschedule your session. My style of photography utilises the beautiful golden light in the last few hours of the day, so if it’s too cloudy or raining I prefer to reschedule to make sure we get the perfect lighting for your photos. As for your reservation retainer, it simply transfers over to our new session date—easy peasy!

  • Who can come to the session?

Everyone who lives in your household (furry or not) is welcome to participate in our session. In the interest of minimizing distractions, however, I do ask that only those who will be in the photos come along. If you’re interested in holding a session with your dog’s best bud or your extended family, I’d be happy to put together a custom quote.
